Congratulations to the Dodgen Middle School Science Olympiad Team, who placed 24th out of 60 teams at the National Science Olympiad Tournament on May 19.

The Dodgen Science Olympiad Invitational scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, January 20th, has been cancelled due to continuing ice on the roads but will still take place virtually. Registration is now open for the Dodgen Middle School Science Olympiad Invitational Tournament on Saturday, January 20th, 2018. Please complete the registration form at the following link before November 9th: https://goo.gl/forms/n7iB7YAOUjtI7z3W2. The invitational committee will send you an email by November 17th letting you know if your team is included in the invitational or on a waiting list. Last year spaces filled quickly.
The cost of the tournament is $75 per team and payment is due by December 8th, with no refunds given after that date. Please do not send payment until you receive a confirmation email. Your confirmation e-mail will include payment details as well as a link to the invitational website with the schedule and other tournament information.
All 23 events will be run. To do this, experienced schools are asked to sign up for and run at least one event per team. This will include making the test and providing for all necessary supplies, tools, people, paper tests & key copies for teams, etc. needed to run the event. In some cases, Dodgen may be able to provide certain items that will be onerous to transport, microscopes and such come to mind. If you need help with equipment, chemicals or supplies, please contact Kathy Jacobson (email@example.com) by early December so that she can make sure to provide these.
The annual Middle School Science Olympiad training workshop is on Saturday October 28th at Dodgen Middle School in East Cobb County. This middle school workshop is helpful for new schools as well as experienced schools. This provides a great way to jump start your team for the year.
Each school that registers may bring 1 teacher/coach and 2 students for each event class that is taught (as space available).

We are also teaching a “new coach” class which is geared towards coaches with 0-3 years’ experience with Science Olympiad.

The Dodgen Middle School Science Olympiad Team cordially invites you to participate in the Dodgen Science Olympiad Invitational Tournament on Saturday, January 21, 2017. This Middle School "B" Tournament will be held at Dodgen Middle School, 1725 Bill Murdock Road, Marietta GA 30062.
In an effort to have more Science Olympiad winners, teams can compete in two flights: One flight for teams who have experience and another flight for those teams who are just starting or those who have not frequented state competitions. All 23 events will run.

ESO coaches, join us on November 1st from 4:00-5:30 pm for our annual coaches training. We'll cover all of this year's events and give you some consumable supplies for your team. The training will take place at the Cobb District office: 514 Glover Street, Suite 230, Marietta, GA 30060.
Regular registration OPEN 8/8/2016 to 10/1/2016 or until the maximum team capacity is reached. Last year team capacity filled quickly so don't wait until the last minute!
Late Registration, 10/25/2016 until all competition team slots are full or 11/25/2016; which ever occurs first! If all team slots are full on 10/1/2016, there will not be a late registration time.
The GA Science Olympiad Registration Fee for 2017 is $195.00 per team. Teams consist of 15 students. A school is limited to only 2 teams for the 2017 season.
1 team cost = $195; 2 team cost = $390
First Timers! If your school is participating in Science Olympiad for the very first time or if your school has not participated in the past 5 years, you qualify for a special first/returning registration rate of $95 for your one team. If you are a First Timer/Returning school and want to register a 2nd team, you will pay full price for the 2nd team registration. Science Olympiad coaches please join this excellent workshop on Saturday, October 24th at Dodgen Middle School. This workshop will include training on specific events in the morning and a Coaching Roundtable session for new & experienced coaches. This workshop is free and it is a great chance to collaborate with other coaches and science colleagues.
