Explor-A-Stories provide a concrete, practical, and convenient way to implement a highly engaging science experience in the classroom. Students get to be part of their very own story as they act much like true scientists do in our world today. At 4-5 key points in each story (noted in red ink), the teacher will pause the story to allow students to be active participants in the exploration - observing, manipulating, explaining, or discussing their ideas before the story continues. The story will then proceed until the next significant situation calls on the skills of the student explorers.
This Explora-Story approach provides the following advantages for the elementary teacher:
If you want to try the first Explor-A-Story, Mystery of the Red Cups, just Email Dr.Tom Brown at firstname.lastname@example.org and an Explor-A-Story kit will be sent to you through the county mail. Simply return the kit through the county mail within a week after receiving it. Return to: Dr. Tom Brown, Central Office
