Mystery Science Returns to Cobb for 2020-2021

Great News! Cobb County School District has partnered with Mystery Science to offer all teachers in the district through June 2021. Sign up for your free account here: https://mysteryscience.com/start?district_id=78067 using your school email address. If you've already signed up for Mystery Science, clicking the link will associate your account with your district's account. Your feedback on the lessons will be shared with our district as part of the evaluation of the curriculum. 

​Mystery Science lessons are open-and-go. Simply gather a few common materials and you can start teaching right away. Each Mystery begins with a question that is explored through engaging video and stimulating discussion questions. K-12 Innovation Academies Applications Now OPEN

 The CCSD 2019-2020 Innovation Academies application is now open through September 10th . School administrators are encouraged to complete an application for interdisciplinary teams of teachers at the same school. Innovation Academies include Arts Integration, HIP (Humanities in Practice), GIS (Geographic Information Systems), STEM, and the new PBL (Problem Based Learning) Space Academy. Additional information, academy dates, applications, and an online magazine showcasing some of these groups can all be found at this link or on the attached flyer: http://cobbinnovationacademies.weebly.com/. The district will cover the cost of substitute teachers.

K-12 Inventure Prize Teacher Workshops

Are you interested in having your students participate in Georgia Tech's Inventure Prize? Teacher workshops are designed for educators of all age groups interested in implementing the K-12 InVenture Prize curriculum.  These one-day forums, led by experienced K-12 InVenture Prize teachers, will provide an overview of the K-12 InVenture Prize, introduce the curriculum, offer first-hand knowledge of how to institute the curriculum for your specific age-group, provide teaching strategies and review the timeline for participating in the program.
 
Teacher workshops are open for teachers of any subjects including STEM, Humanities and the Arts.  Whether you are a new K-12 InVenture Prize educator or a seasoned one, you are welcome to register for upcoming Workshops in your area. Click here for more information. 

GaDOE 3-D Science Online PL Course

Are you interested in learning more about 3-D science this summer? The GaDOE just released an online professional learning module to introduce teachers to 3-D science and provide sample instructional strategies to use. The module is designed to take between 1-2 hours and can be completed in segments or all at once. Download registration instructions here.
