The Dodgen & Walton Science Olympiad Teams cordially invite you to participate in the Dodgen-Walton Science Olympiad Invitational Tournament for Middle School teams on Saturday, November 10, 2018. The Tournament will be held at Walton High School, 1590 Bill Murdock Road, Marietta GA 30062.
Schools may send one team and all 23 events will be run. Experienced schools will be asked to sign up for and run at least one event per team. This will include making the test and providing for all necessary supplies, tools, people, paper tests & key copies for teams, etc. needed to run the event. Medals and team trophies will only be awarded for the written test events. For the building events, we are encouraging the students to bring their prototype devices to run in a tournament to gain experience in preparation for their regional tournaments. The courses will be set up per the rules and judges/experienced coaches will be available for the students to talk with regarding their devices and the events. The invitational committee will send you an email by September 24th letting you know if your team is included in the invitational or on a waiting list. Last year spaces filled quickly. Congratulations to the Dodgen Middle School Science Olympiad Team, who placed 24th out of 60 teams at the National Science Olympiad Tournament on May 19.

The annual Middle School Science Olympiad training workshop is on Saturday October 28th at Dodgen Middle School in East Cobb County. This middle school workshop is helpful for new schools as well as experienced schools. This provides a great way to jump start your team for the year.
Each school that registers may bring 1 teacher/coach and 2 students for each event class that is taught (as space available). In an effort to have more Science Olympiad winners, teams can compete in two flights: One flight for teams who have experience and another flight for those teams who are just starting or those who have not frequented state competitions. All 23 events will run. If all team slots are full on 10/1/2016, there will not be a late registration time. The GA Science Olympiad Registration Fee for 2017 is $195.00 per team. Teams consist of 15 students. A school is limited to only 2 teams for the 2017 season. 1 team cost = $195; 2 team cost = $390 First Timers! If your school is participating in Science Olympiad for the very first time or if your school has not participated in the past 5 years, you qualify for a special first/returning registration rate of $95 for your one team. If you are a First Timer/Returning school and want to register a 2nd team, you will pay full price for the 2nd team registration.
