We'll meet at Hawthorne from 3:15-4:45 to examine quarter 4 standards and engaging ideas for instruction, such as literacy connections and Title I hands-on kits. Starlab Training

There will be one final Starlab training for  teachers this year on Wednesday January 25th from 5-7 pm at Russell Elementary school. If you, or any Cobb colleagues, want to be trained on how to use the Starlab then this is a great opportunity.  Teachers must complete this training before using the Starlab as it is a complicated apparatus.  You can register in 30 seconds at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/StarLab2017

CDC Science Ambassador Fellowship for Teachers

​Attention middle and high school science and STEM teachers-- the CDC is recruiting for the 2017 Science Ambassador Fellowship! This competitive fellowship includes a 5-day summer course (July 10th-14th) at CDC headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, and a 1-year distance-based professional development opportunity. Apply now (through February 15th) to learn from CDC scientists and create lesson plans that will be featured on the CDC website: http://go.usa.gov/x8W4S. Participation in this program can be used as evidence for a level 4 on the Professional Knowledge and Professionalism TKES standards.
